Rockets

There are four major systems in a full scale rocket; the structural system, the payload system, the guidance system, and the propulsion system. The three-stage-to-orbit launch system is a commonly used rocket system to attain Earth orbit. The spacecraft uses three distinct stages to provide propulsion consecutively in order to achieve orbital velocity. It is intermediate between a four-stage-to-orbit launcher and a two-stage-to-orbit launcher.Scientists use telescopes in space because the Earth's atmosphere distorts some of our light and view. It takes a giant rocket over a 100 feet high to put a satellite or telescope in space. Rockets carry astronauts into space. ... Rockets have changed the world completely and have given us new eyes for the universe. The Chinese began experimenting with the gunpowder-filled tubes. At some point, they attached bamboo tubes to arrows and launched them with bows. Soon they discovered that these gunpowder tubes could launch themselves just by the power produced from the escaping gas. The true rocket was born. The primary stage of a rocket is the first rocket engine to engage, providing the initial thrust to send the rocket skyward. Usually the first stage is larger than the next stage, or stages, because it must transport not only its own weight, but the weight of the rest of the rocket. So it roughly takes about 32 minutes to fuel up the first stage of a Falcon 9. You can find the times they start fueling in their press kits and they usually explain the entire process in the beginning of each livestreamEach of the four solid rocket motors is 1 meter (3.28 feet) in diameter and 13 meters (42.6 feet) long; each contains 11,765 kilograms (25,937 pounds) of hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) propellant and provides an average thrust of 485,458 newtons (109,135 pounds) at sea level.Rockets were first used as actual weapons in the battle of Kai-fung-fu in 1232 A.D. The Chinese attempted to repel Mongol invaders with barrages of fire arrows and, possibly, gunpowder-launched grenades. The fire-arrows were a simple form of a solid-propellant rocketRockets, also called launch vehicles, play an important role in our lives. Rockets deliver satellites to space where they can begin to do their important work. These craft and their engines, called rockets, have taken on many roles as fireworks, signal flares, and weapons of war. But since the 1950s, rockets also have let us send robots, animals, and people into orbit around Earth—and even beyond.NASA uses rockets to launch satellites and to send probes to other worlds. These rockets include the Atlas V, the Delta II, the Pegasus and Taurus. NASA also uses smaller "sounding rockets" for scientific research. These rockets go up and come back down, instead of flying into orbit.Rocket engines use the pinciple of reaction. They are propelled/propulsed by igniting fuel which creates high pressure under control. If control of this process is lost, it will reach critical pressure, temperature or both. This usually results in an explosion.

The science road show

Yesterday our class went to science road show they had plenty of activity my favourite activity was flying rockets and jump with the flying rocket there was a thing to see what can shoot further I reckon that the long rocket is better and the jump I got high but I don't think I got very high and then they did a show.
